Lower Primary

lower primaryEarly Education shall actively and consciously influence and stimulate children to develop an understanding of the values in the International Schools system. The underlying values are human rights, equality, democracy, environmental sustainability, multiculturalism and respect for the mother tongues. Early education promotes responsibility, a sense of community and respect for the rights and freedom of the individual.

The basis of international education at FSS is largely European culture enriched by a global approach, the character of the country where the school is located as well as the unique culture existing in the school. Education supports the development of the children’s linguistic and cultural identity, their part in society, and in the global world. Education, thereby, promotes tolerance and inter-cultural understanding.

International schools are rich multi-linguistic and multi-cultural environments which offer advantages and complex challenges to children’s learning and development. The schools work in partnership with parents to promote and support children in their development.

In teaching and learning, the diversity of children is taken into consideration and gender equality is promoted by giving boys and girls the ability to act on the basis of equal rights and responsibilities.
